Happy Memorial Day

To those who gave a part, most, or all of their lives to keep our country free -- including the freedom to write and worship as we wish -- the team at Seriously Write would like to say,

"Thank you."

Did you or a member of your family service in the military? If so, please let us know. Comment below with your (or your loved one's) name and branch of the military. And, if you're able, give them a hug from us.

  1. I'll start.

My father and father-in-law served in the military during WWII:
    Boyd J. Tucker - Army
Robert D. Arndt, Sr. - Navy

  4. My dad was in the Navy in the 50s. He didn't see any wartime action, but my father-in-law was a teen in the Philipines when WWII broke out. He joined the Army, fought the Japanese, and ended up a POW. He's 84.

    1. Wow...I can't imagine what it would be like to be a POW.

    3. I can't imagine it, either. The worst part was the deaths of his mother and sister when their house was bombed...not an easy early life.

    4. Oh, Sandy, how awful! I can't imagine how he got over it. I'm sure you are such a blessing to him.

  5. Oh...I forgot to include that my father-in-law (who passed away before I met my husband), was a marine. He was at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. He managed to survive!

    1. My father-in-law also died before we met. He wasn't at Pearl Harbor during the attack, but he was there earlier. My husband's aunt had all kinds of photos of him on the beach.
