Ask O Wednesdays
Ever wonder what’s the best way to create a compelling heroine? Or how to grip readers with a stellar opening? Or how strict to be with point of view (perhaps what I even mean by point of view)? Well, that’s what Ask O Wednesdays is all about. Contact me (or just leave a comment) with any of your burning (or even simmering) questions, and I’ll give you my best answer. We’re gonna have fun!
About Ocieanna
Author. Fiction is my first writing love. I’ve been blessed to express this passion in two novels I co-authored with Tricia Goyer, Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie, Montana, and Love Finds You in Victory Heights, Washington. She’s also edited both fiction and nonfiction for WinePress Publishers for over eight years.
Mom. In her personal life, Ocieanna recently had a cardiac arrest. This event changed her life in many ways, especially as a homeschool mom of four. You can read more about her story on her website, and discover ongoing insights from her mom adventure on her blog as well as at MOPS.org.
Speaking. Ocieanna’s passion for fiction is rivaled by her love of speaking. She enjoys sharing her recent tale, sparked from the cardiac arrest, called “Loving Your Kids Like There’s No Tomorrow” with MOPS or any parenting groups. She also offers two women’s retreat talks. She studied the Bible for over twenty years, attending seminary classes, lectures, sitting under strong teaching at an Bible-believing church, and just wrestling with the text on her own. She also taught the Old Testament for two years. To see more detailed descriptions of her talks or for more information about having Ocieanna speak at your event, check out her website.
Coach. Looking for some help with your latest writing project? Ocieanna offers small-group and one-on-one help at reasonable prices. She enjoys talking to writers, brainstorming ideas, and sharing her years of experience with others. She also offers short critiques and editing services. Check it out here.

Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie, Montana
Julia Cavanaugh has never left New York. But in 1889, the young woman rides the orphan train west to deliver the girls in her care to new families. After Julia’s final stop in Montana, she plans to kick the dust off her heels and head straight back east. But upon arriving in the remote town of Lonesome Prairie, she learns to her horror that she is also supposed to be delivered—into the hands of an uncouth miner who carries a bill of purchase for his new “bride.”
Julia turns to a respected circuit preacher to protect her from the marriage, but with no return fare, no home, and few friends, her options are bleak. What is God’s plan for a lonely woman stranded in the middle of the vast Montana prairie?

Love Finds You in Victory Heights, Washington
The Second World War has stolen Rosalie's fiancé from her. But rather than wallow, Rosalie throws herself into her work at the Boeing plant in Victory Heights, shooting rivets into the B-17 bombers that will destroy the enemy. A local reporter dubs her Seattle's Own Rosie the Riveter, and her story lends inspiration to women across the country.
While Rosalie's strong arms can bear the weight of this new responsibility, her heart cannot handle the intense feelings that begin to surface for Kenny, the handsome reporter. Fear of a second heartbreak is a powerful opponent - but will it claim victory over love?
